Your Greatest Weakness

Definition

Say it out loud in an interview — clear, simple, no textbook wording.

"What is your greatest weakness?" tests self-awareness, not honesty as a confession. Interviewers want to see that you know a real gap, that it is not fatal for this role, and that you are already fixing it.

They score three things. Is the weakness real. Is it bounded, meaning it does not disqualify you for this job. And is there a fix with evidence, not just a promise.

The trap has two forms. The fake weakness ("I am a perfectionist") insults the interviewer. The fatal weakness ("I struggle to finish work on time" for a delivery role) disqualifies you. Pick the middle: real, not core to the role, already improving.
