Why This Role
easyComplete guide with examples and interview questions · 12 min
Definition
Say it out loud in an interview — clear, simple, no textbook wording.
"Why do you want this role?" tests whether you researched this team or just applied everywhere. Interviewers can tell the difference in one sentence.
They score two things. Do you know what the team actually works on. And does your past give you a reason to want that work specifically, rather than any frontend job.
The trap is flattery plus perks. "Great culture, exciting product, room to grow" fits every company, so it proves nothing. If your answer works for ten other job posts, it fails this one.

- •Show research in one sentence, not a company history
